Jeremy Leggett (born 1954) is a British social entrepreneur, writer, and leading figure in the clean-energy transition. After an early academic career at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, he became a Greenpeace climate campaigner before founding Solarcentury and SolarAid, pioneers of solar access in Africa. An award-winning geologist and author of five books on energy and climate, he has led Highlands Rewilding since 2020. Winner of major honours including the 2025 Blue Planet Prize, he has been described as “Britain’s most respected green energy boss.”
