Julian Keites built his early career in oil markets, specialising in derivatives, risk management, and commercial analysis within the fossil fuel sector. Working in this environment gave him skills he later recognised as highly transferable beyond a single industry. Today, he works across consultancy and investment-related projects focusing on translating market complexity into practical risk and capital decisions. He is also the founder of Energovis Limited, established in 2024 as an independent platform for future-facing commercial and advisory work built on his experience in global energy markets. Veslemøy Klavenes-Berge spent a decade working in oil and gas as a petroleum geophysicist, at the forefront of earth science and energy exploration. As her understanding of climate science deepened, she questioned her place within the industry, ultimately leaving during a period of both personal and sector-wide transition. Today, she is a solopreneur, writer, and host of Stories for the Future, where she explores the human side of change. Anders Dræge spent 13 years working in oil and gas as a petroleum geophysicist and researcher at Equinor. With a PhD and a growing focus on programming and data analytics, he built award-winning tools that are still used within the company today. Over time, however, his personal values began to shift, leading him to question whether he could continue working in the fossil fuel sector. In 2019, he left the industry to begin a new chapter in machine learning and AI within the insurance sector. Today, he leads a machine learning and AI team at Frende Insurance. Patrick Peura graduated with a degree in Sustainable Business in the midst of the global financial crisis. In an uncertain economy, he had to pivot and found work at Chevron Canada. Over time, he became increasingly uncomfortable with the tension between the story —‘we help keep modern society powered and functioning’—and the reality that much of that energy was frivolously wasted. After leaving the oil industry to pursue a master’s degree in environmental governance in Germany, he joined Allianz in 2018, where he built and now leads investor engagement and climate stewardship initiatives. Today, his work focuses on helping drive decarbonisation and sustainability actions across global financial markets.
